Welcome to the Pygmalion Society.  We are harmless group of random lunatics who delight in creating and appreciating miniature, artificial life.  Although this obsession centres on Asian Ball-Jointed Dolls for many of our members, we also enjoy similar simulacra, such as action figures and antique dolls.

The Pygmalion Society Midwinter Masked Ball

Advance notice of an event that will be happening later this year.

Date

Sunday 14th November 2010, 12-6pm

Venue

Upstairs at the Yorkshire Grey, 2 Theobalds Road, London, WC1X 8PN.

Features

Here are some proposed events for the day.  As we are still in the planning stages, this list might change as we approach the date.  We will keep you posted.

bullet

Dolly Doctor on Call:  An experienced dollyholic who will offer a limited number of appointments to ailing dolls. Treatments to be offered might include restringing, wiring and sueding. We propose that there be a small donation for an appointment with the Good Doctor.

bullet

Costume contest:  A contest for the best-dressed doll in attendance. Voting will be by the other guests at the Ball and there will be a small prize for the winner.

bullet

Souvenir photo booth:  A corner of the ballroom for taking well-lit photos of your lovelies with a fetching background and props. Or make a small donation and have one of our in-house photographers do it for you.

bullet

Bring and buy table:  Bring in those wigs and eyes that no one at home wears and go home with armfuls of other stuffs. As this is a small, relatively informal event, we will not have dealer's tables.

bullet

Raffle:  Each ticket-holder is automatically entered into a raffle for dolly goodies.

Admission

Admission will be by advance ticket only.  These are £10 each and include a buffet lunch.  They can be ordered from madammaumau"at"nachtzikrus"dot"co"dot"uk (obviously, you will need to change the "at" and "dot"s to the real thing when addressing your email.  I just don't want an inbox full of spam).

This is designed to be a not-for-profit event.  However, any profit that is inadvertently made will be donated to Cancer Research UK.

More information on this event will be posted as the site develops.  Check back later!
